How to Prepare to Present your Paper

MED 2020 is planning for a full online conference hosted through Zoom meetings. We will be offering different options for you to prepare and present your paper in an invited or standard session. The following options are available:

  1. Video Presentation Upload Option (Recommended): Your presentation will take the form of a pre-recorded video, which we will make available to conference attendees through the online conference program. This format is RECOMMENDED for contributed and invited papers (12-minute presentation with 5 minutes Q&A).

We request the designated corresponding author to prepare and upload by August 20, 2020, 23:59:59 PST:
    1. A video of your presentation. Please do not try to upload powerpoint or PDF files and start early: given that the resulting video files will be very large, they might need a long time to transfer, and you might not be able to upload them in time if you start late. Please see details below on how to prepare your presentation for upload:
      http://med2020.cran.univ-lorraine.fr/video.html
    2. A release form which grants us the permission to host the presentation video on line to be accessed by virtual conference attendees, together with other requirements from the IEEE as stipulated in the release form.

The session host will download and play your presentation during your scheduled presentation date and time according to the conference program. For contributed and invited paper presentations, after your video presentation plays, the Session Chair/Co-Chair will open the floor for 5 minutes for you to take and answer questions.

  2. Real-time Presentation Option (Not recommended): You can present your work by sharing your screen and presentation in Zoom during your scheduled date and time. For contributed/invited papers, your presentation should be NO longer than 15 minutes. After your presentation, you will have 5 minutes for Q&A. The Session Chair/Co-Chair (and Zoom session host) will coordinate the presentation order according to the schedule in the program. Please prepare your presentation the usual way using MS Power Point software or similar. Keep videos and animations in your presentation to a minimum to minimize video/audio lag and connection issues.

When entering the scheduled session in Zoom, ensure that you have a relatively fast Internet connection when you participate to minimize video/audio lag and connection issues.

We hope to make MED 2020 a success despite the difficult situation we find ourselves in, and this unusual conference format. We thank you for your cooperation in this endeavor.

Important message from the General Chair

Dear colleagues,
I am sad to announce that MED 2020 will be turned into a completely virtual event.
We have delayed the decision for as long as we could, but it became clear that an in-person event wouldn't be possible. While the COVID-19 pandemic has receded a lot in Europe, it is still ongoing. Lockdowns are easing gradually but still enforce many restrictions, particularly for social gatherings.
Organizing an international event involving a large number of people coming from various countries is a delicate task. The Conference Center of St Raphaël cannot guarantee that it will be able to welcome us in September, as meeting facilities must comply with government directives.
The same restrictions apply to restaurants, which have resumed their activities but are operating with reduced seating capacities. Air transportation is another concern as airlines are reopening very gradually. Furthermore, most academics require travel permissions to attend a conference abroad. As a French government employee I currently face firm travel restrictions and my university is strongly advising against traveling.
The virtual event will take place on 16, 17 and 18 September according to the published program.
The details of the virtual event will be settled shortly, with technical instructions and information published on the conference web pages. A copy will also be sent to you.

Website for the programme!

Program is now online at:
https://controls.papercept.net/conferences/conferences/MED20/program/
The event is postponed and will take place on 16, 17 and 18 September according to that program.

Important message from the General Chair

MED2020 follows and monitors carefully and continuously the World Health Organization’s situation updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemics. The paper review process and all final decisions will be sent out quite as planned, perhaps with a ten day delay.

We confirm and assure all authors that all accepted and registered papers will be published as planned and will appear on IEEE Xplore. The deadline for submitting the final version will be on May 24th.

However, the pandemic concerns now most of the countries in the World. It leads to travel restrictions and confinement in many territories. In this situation the conference will not be able to proceed normally on the scheduled date. We assume, however, that the world will have returned to a more normal situation next September and we've decided to postpone the date of the conference to September 15-18, 2020 (the conference is still taking place in St Raphael).

Welcome to MED'2020

The Mediterranean Control Association and the Organising Committee of the 28th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in MED'2020 to be held on the 16-19 June 2020 in Saint-Raphaël, France. The conference will be organized in the Congress Center of Saint-Raphaël. Close to the city of Nice, Saint-Raphaël is situated on the French Riviera. Saint-Raphaël, classified resort and recognized seaside resort, stretches over thirty-six kilometers of coast, between the Massif de l’Estérel and the Mediterranean coast, cut out of coves and creeks, for the delight of the holidaymakers.

The conference will include tutorials and workshops, a technical program of presentations from June 16 to June 19, and keynote lectures covering a wide range of topics on systems, automation, robotics and control including theory, hardware, software, communication technologies and applications. Main topics of interest are available here. MED'2020 offers a great opportunity for academics, researchers and industrial players working in control and automation to socialise and network together, present their research progress and address new challenges in the field.
